Circulation is key to a pool every day. Turning the entirety of the pool water over once per day through the filtration system is recommended. This is achieved typically by running the pool pump for 8-12 hours per day. Ensure your pool timer is set to this each day and best to run it during the day when the hot AZ sun is shining down on the pool. We recommend 8a-6p every day.
We recommend getting your pool serviced weekly to maintain its cleanliness and overall health.
Filters should be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly on average every 4-6 months. The cartridges inside the filter need to be replaced on average every 1-3 years. Don't worry we can come do this for you, it's a messy job.
There are three types of pool filters - Cartridge, DE (diatomaceous earth), and Sand. Cartridge filters are the most environmentally friendly filter since they require no backwashing thus saving water and electricity during cleaning. DE filters can filter down to about 3 microns. Cartridge filters can filter down to about 5 microns. Sand filters only filter down to about 25 microns. To put this in perspective, the human eye can see down to about 25 microns thus Cartridge or DE filters are the way to go to filter what you can't see.
Automatic pool cleaners are essential for any pool even with a weekly pool service. There are three main types - Robotic, Pressure, and Suction. Robotics are generally regarded as the best of the best. They are the most environmentally friendly since they are independent of your pool equipment which saves you electricity and wear/tear on your pool equipment. They are also the most versatile in that you can schedule them to run when you want instead of suction and pressure cleaners that run the entire time your pool pump is on which can be 8-12 hours per day. Most cleaners only need 2-3 hours daily to clean your pool. In Arizona, the next best would be suction cleaners which are suitable for small debris/sand. Pressure cleaners are good for large debris but most pools in AZ are not currently plumbed to allow this option to work.
